Glass Chrysocolla Keepsake Urn

How It's Made

This beautiful urn is handcrafted with care by Scott. The process starts by gathering molten glass onto a blowpipe. The molten glass is covered in blue glass melted in and a bubble is formed inside.  Next, a molten bit of glass is wrapped around the bubble and small bits of color are added throughout creating a unique pattern. The bubble is blown and shaped to form. A solid lid is fashioned in the same way, each made precisely for a good fit. The glass is then placed in an annealer to cool down overnight. Once the glass is cooled the surface is sandblasted to create an alluring matte finish. The finished piece is then ready to be welcomed to its loving home.
